Thanks Everyone!!! :thankyou:

True dwarfs will NOT obtain lengths greater than 6 ft......5 1/2ft. seems to be average for adults...

My half Dwarf double het. albino/granites are 2 years old and get xlrg Rats 2wice a week and the female is only 6ft. at best, and the male is only 5 1/2ft.         I expect them to top out around 8 ft.

I hope to have half dwarf albinos, granites, and albino granites available in 2010.....and hopefully some 75% Dwarf  Het. albino/granite....

Thanks!

I looked into these in the past, because I'd love to have a burm, but can't handle the size (I'm usually on my own with the snake care).  The problem I read about was knowing if they were TRUE dwarfs or not.  I came across stories of "dwarves" getting 10+ feet.  Seems some people will call them dwarfs to make a sale, even if they aren't true dwarfs.  Not accusing anyone of anything here, but that's what stopped my research.  Are there sure ways of knowing a true dwarf by look?  And not just size, because the age/size thing can be misrepresented by someone just trying to get a sale.  I'd have to be 100% sure before I could take the leap, as I wouldn't want to have to worry about re-homing a "dwarf" when it started reaching 10+ feet.

:agree: I'd love to know this as well :)

I have the same concerns, Duff ..as my husband is NOT going to help me with the reptiles (not even a little Crested gecko  :P ). I have a few friends close by ..in the hobby.... but that really limits my "safe" handling ability, once the Burm gets 10' + ..like you said. I'm still going to do it ..but a "true" dwarf would be an awesome alternative  ;)

Just look at the pictures again, dwarfs look totally different than a normal burm.....If you set a normal and a dwarf next to eachother what you will notice is a difference in head structure and pattern....
I will try to get some full body shots looking down on her as soon as I can to show you what I mean.....I dont have any normal burms so I cant give you a comparrison shot, but you will see what I mean about the pattern.....

Hope this helps...
Thanks

Thanks for following up on our inquiries, Justin ..it's much appreciated. We all learn something new everyday ..or we should ...and it's great to learn from each other, in this hobby.

When you post your "bird's eye" pics ...we can probably get Joel or someone else with a few gorgeous "normal sized" Burms, to put up some comparison "bird's eye" pics.

Some macro "head shots" would be nice ..if you have the time. I'd like to see the differences there, as well.

Thanks!  ;D
