We use what I think is called Digiherp or something like that, the wife has it on her computer.  It keeps track of all that as well as rodent colonies and such.  You can also lay out your racks in it so you just click on a given rack then tub and should be to the animals record that is kept in the actual tub.  We can also take a file and save it to a CD or E-mail it to prospective buyers or actual buyers.  They get the full history including the ID # for the parents.  As a breeding program goes along you can actually do family tree tracing and such for 2nd or later generation babies in your collection, lets you find out who Great, Great, Great grampa was as long as he is in your actual data base.  The best part is the internet can be down and we can still fill it out.  Oh yea you can also add a bar code system to it with a scanner that allows you to say scan a bar code for a rat pinky, fuzzy, weaned, sm. adult, md adult... and then one on the snakes tub and it will automatically load up info on the feeding as well as other stuff you can set up bar codes for.   :sign11:  We are going to probably wait till our collection gets over 100 snakes before we look into the bar code system though since it costs a couple bucks!

I think iherp is great, especially for newer rep lovers like me. It gives me an easy scope of my animals progression and history and a chance to compare to others also. great tool IMO for a learning enthusiast. I'm sure the more advanced keepers need a lot more tracking abilities and control but for me and other newer addicts:) its great. I'm glad i found it.

I'd have to have a hell of a lot of calenders but I have to agree in not keeping it on the hard drive...   Thing is my hard drive crashed and took ALL of my records with it (with the exception of photos, and some feeding records).   The hard part was the breeding records.    So I've slowly been adding my collection to iHerp and love it.  Its centrally stored so you have access to it from any computer.
