I have an afrock breeding pair and have had them for a long time now. I guess the main thing I can say about them and their bad reps is that they pretty much deserve their reps. They are really difficult to tame down, even when getting a young one. CB babies can make way better pets as they will be naturally more calm. I'm not trying to say to stay away from them because I personally think they're great snakes. But they grow to tremendous size and a large snake with a bad attitude=big problems. So if you're getting one, make sure it's a yearling because that's you're best bet.

As for the temps and other questions you asked, you want to provide your afrock with a basking spot of around 88-92 degrees and keep humidity around %55-70% because an afrock's natural habitat is usually around marshy areas. As for caging, a 20 gallon tank/cage would be good for a yearling afrock because it will feel more secure in a small enclosure and that will benefit both you and the snake. But the way they eat and grow, it'll be needing a 60 gal+ in no time. Hope this helps.

Glad I could help. But don't worry. Burms and especially retics are great stepping stones to getting afrocks. So you're well on your way!
