Malaysian Bloods Python
« on: October 13, 2011, 06:43:11 PM »
So for my 10 Anniversary my wife got me 2.1 Malaysian Bloods. i knew i was get one maybe a pair, but was shock as hell to see 3 babies. She got all 3 for only $130.00 plus shipping. He threw the third one in for only $30.00 since it was the last one of the clutch. She got them from Rick Sladick at Snakes4U.com

She gotten me snakes before, but i always picked them and order them this time she did it all. Now i no why she help me set up a couple tubs. She hinted i might get a pair so i wanted to be ready just in case. I was really shocked when my son came out of his room with a third tub ready to go.  Best gift ever and she really surprised me.

Anyway first up is the female i named Bloodstorm. She's very laid back i can reach right in and pick her up. She has the darkest color.

Next is the big male aka JUGGERNAUT. He's the fattest and fastest.  They pissed all over the bags they were in. So i gave them all a bath his shots out of the sink, across the counter, and straight off the end lucky i caught him in mid air.

Last the smallest one of the three aka Grim Reaper. He is the first Blood i ever seen do the open mouth swaying his head back and forth it was so cute. He as the brightest color and most attitude.

im not sure if you have had bloods in the past, or if this is your first bunch,,, but get ready!!!! after year 2,, they take off in size.   from MY EXPEENCE atleast with one (that iv had sence it was about the size of yours) ,,,, i wouldent mess with it too much. just feed it, clean its enclosure, and leave it alone for about a year.  these animals seem kinda "flighty" when there small.  might have something to do with their suclusive "ambush" heratige.  mine are fine now as adult/ sub adult stage...... im just not sure that this is the type of animal that likes a bunch of attention....... maby other blood owners can chime in??

there like the sleeping giants,,, no pun intended..... get a pair  (or  single) of bloods,,,  use them as your garbage can,,, and before you know it, in a few years, you got a creature that not only has a beutiful colors, but also displays the caretoristics of a true ambush predator.

Not my first bloods. My first one was a Malaysian Blood to. Had it about 2 months when it got pneumonia. I took it to the vet and  was giving it shot every other day.  When giving her it's third shot she jumped an i believe i puncture something. Till this day i totally blame myself for her death. If i had just wait till my wife got home so she could have held her and help me. Never try giving a snake a shot by yourself.

My second Blood was stolen along with my first Yellow Anaconda, BRB and Jungle. I had bought the Yellow off of a guy and made the mistake of having him bring to my house. (came across it for sale in the paper) While putting him in his cage i was talking about going to a show out of town the following weekend. Come back Monday morning to find my door open and my snakes all missing. Neighbor said she seen a guy walking from my trailer  to a car down the street. When she told me what he looked like i know it was him. I called the cops but they said the name he used was fake and he paid for the ad with cash so no way to track him. I had that blood for over a year.

Third one was a Borneo. Had it two weeks it ate the night before and was just fine. Come home from work and it was dead. The air had gone out and the temps jump to almost 130 degrees in my trailer. With his heat pad the temperature cooked him. After that i said i never own another Blood or Borneo until i lived in a house.

Fast forward 15 years  i have a Borneo that is a over two years old. I own my house and have a snake room. I now keep all snakes in tubs or Boaphile cages. Make it so much easier to keep humidity up. Plus thank to the internet i have learn so much more about them than i ever knew back then.

Sorry for the long post just thought i share  a little of my history with bloods.

The big male and female both shed this week and took their first rat pinky for me. The little male had his third meal for me. His a eating machine. It won't be long at all and he'll be as big as the other two.  Anyway here's a couple new pics of each. Once they settle in more i get some more pics.

First up the female Bloodstorm. She actually got darker after shedding.

Next is the big male Juggernaut. His the mellowest of the three.

Last the little guy Grim Reaper. I never noticed until i took these pictures that he as a reduce pattern on his side. I hope he keeps it.
