Congratulations on your corn snake.  How old is it?  I'm guessing it's a hatchling?

In most cases, a 20 long will be fine for them when they're full grown.  If it gets much bigger than 4 feet, though, it may need a bigger viv, say a 40 gal.  I've got 2 corns that are 5 ft + that would be too big for a 20 long.  So I keep them in a 40 gal breeder.  But I they're a little bigger than the norm.

You should not be handling a snake for quite a while after you feed it, especially in the case of baby Corn Snakes, where the food is proportionally much larger. Don't handle until the lump is almost completely gone.

As for feeding, go on with the usual feeding schedule.
If it has scales, I want it. Period.

Holly,

Definitely do NOT continue with your usual feeding schedule.  Regurgitation is very harmful to baby snakes, because it depletes the stomach acids and beneficial bacteria in their stomachs.  They need time to recover before eating again.  You should wait at least 10 days or more before trying to feed again.  Then start with a smaller meal than usual.  Some people just give a pinky head with the next meal.  In your case, the regurge was probably due to handling it too soon, so you may be okay with feeding it the smallest pinky you can find.

And as the last poster said, always wait at least 2 days before handling.  3 or 4 is even better, especially with a baby snake.

What are your temperatures in the cage?  Too hot or too cold can cause a regurge also.  The hot spot should be 85 F, measured on the bottom where the snake is.

Good luck, and let us know how it goes.

I'm gonna add to kronos' post here. Where he says that temp needs to be measured at the bottom where the snake is, he is absolutely right. You do not want to measure it at the back wall with some little dial gauge, or anything like that. What you want to do is get a non contact thermometer or a temp gun and measure the surface temperature of the floor where the snake lays. if you're using a heat light and getting 85 degrees on the back wall, I garauntee you that hot spot on the floor is closer to 100 or more.

Let us know how your snake does.  But, feeding it so soon after a regurge was not a good idea.  If it regurges this meal, MAKE SURE you wait at least 10 days before feeding it again.  Baby corn snakes tend not to recover after multiple regurges, so you have to make sure you give it the best chance.  If it keeps this one down, you should be okay.  However, if it does regurge, you may want to consider finding Kathy Love's website and ordering Nutribac from her.  As I understand it, you sprinkle it in the snake's water, and it helps to replace the good bacteria that lives in the gut of snakes and helps them digest their food.

Keep us updated!
