How do I know if....

How can I tell if my Burm is a Cross... I know without knowing his parents I will never know exactly but I would like to know if there are any markers that would suggest if he is a cross

Welcome Iris!!  I don't know much about burmese pythons and their morphs but I'm sure someone here will be able to help.  I just wanted to say welcome to the Dark Side and comment on what a pretty burm you have   :welcome: :kewlpics:

That is a pretty snake! Question though - are you trying to find out if he possibly is het for another morph, or are you trying to see if he is crossed with a completely different specie of python?

Crossed with another Type of Python..... I know that many burms have been crossed with Rocks and with Indian Pythons.. Just wondering if there were some markers to tell if he is a cross

He looks pure to me, Rocks and Indian pythons have slightly different patterns, and aren't as common in the trade as Burmese. Unfortunately there is no 100% sure way to tell. Based solely on the shape of his head I would rule out being crossed with an Indian python, as an Indian has a flatter, more sloped head when viewed from the side compared to the Burmese. The eyes of a Burmese are more pronounced than those of an Indian. As for being crossed with a Rock, I don't know enough about scale counts, etc to say on that one. The fact that it's an albino limits the chances of being a hybrid as well. Being as both parents had to carry the albino burmese gene. But don't be discouraged, I'd be proud. You don't have a german sheppard crossed with an english mastiff mutt there, you have a 100% Prime Home Grown Burmese Python.
