That looks nothing like a Pastel to me... She is way brighter... Way cooler. She looks like a Desert Ball or a Josie Ball, or more distantly a Fire Ball.

I wouldn't be surprised if you have something here, Michelle. I have seen a lot of light normals to fawn over, but there just seems nothing normal about her, to me. I hope it's genetic. I would stick her to something good, like a mojave or yellowbelly or something.

Here's a Desert Photo:

And a photo of your average Fire:

And most importantly, here's some photos of the Josie for you to compare (Disclaimer: These are not my photos, these are credited to the amazing and lucky Joe Ellis and his kick ass snakes):

Where did you get her from? I am very jealous. She is incredible!

:D i also believe i have something special too, maybe some hidden gene, but she looks most like the desert ball and the last pic of the Josie bp, but still very different...like she has no blushing in her saddles at all, only on her head.

i actually got her from the flea market in Summerville SC, in one of the reptile sections. the guy told me she was pastel, but i only got her for $50...i was thinking of pairing her with a spider or pastel but for her first breed i am putting her with my het albino male, just to see what comes out of the pairing, to see what kinds of genetics she really has. i hope i have stumbled on something new...tho she is getting a little darker on her back now, shes still got some nice yellow in her

I would discourage breeding her to a Spider. Since it is a pattern mutation, and in particular one that reduces the pattern, I don't know if you would get a good visual or a good idea of what kind of potential it may have with that cross. Pastel is a good idea, though!

Also, with the Het Albino, I wouldn't expect to get anything from that gene, and wouldn't recommend breeding to that either if your looking for a reaction with your girl. The T-Negative gene has been proven many times over to be specific to itself, and the Het-Form has been proven over to not be visual. If you just wanted to see what she did to a normal than it's a fine way to go, but simple genetics say you pretty much won't get anything from the Het Albino, and all your babies would only be Possible Hets in the long run. Besides, the Albino Gene is meant to blank out color and replace it, so it'll remove any potential your girl may have and turn it into the simple white of the Albino (rather than see what it can do). It would be like the Pastel Albino, IMO, where you can barely tell it has Pastel in it, because the Albino takes that away and turns it white.

Just my two cents and just speculating with you! Hope it wasn't too confusing!

The Pastel is a good idea, for realz, though. :)

good point about the albino gene, i never really thought about that, but i am for sure breeding her with a pastel this fall, if and when she is up to size, which wont be a problem, shes growing really fast for me :)
