I would say that will probably require surgery.

Wow, that is rough looking!!

I don't know if that is a simple prolapse or not... I have seen via emergency at my vet reptiles that have prolapsed their entire reproductive tract. This usually happens after laying eggs though, and usually a little "messier" and not so "neat" looking.

If it like a clearish, sac?? Whether it's a prolapse or something worse, I'm not really sure what you can do without a veterinarian or some sort of surgical/medicational intervention .:(

Does somewhat look like a prolapse. Oddly enough I've heard of success using warm soaks frequently and have actually heard of people using preparation h ointment on the area after warm soaking and had decent results.
I've never had to do it but from what I've heard it's usually quite effective.

Thanks for the advice. Will try and update you guys  :) Appreciate the advice.

I feel that the sac don't look like an organ cause it's clear, it's like a sac of water.

1SoftKiss gave you some really good info!!

I'm going to throw in as well: LUBE LUBE LUBE!!! Sterile lube if you can get ahold of it, but if not anything normal and unscented will work. This will protect it from any outside elements... And you have to figure it's normally in a moist environment in the body, not open to outside air, so keeping it lubed up will keep it from drying out or degenerating.

Unfortunately, the fact that it is clearish makes me worry. A prolapse is by definition an organ slipping out of place. I've never seen a prolapse of the cloaca that looks so... bulbous-like (for lack of a better word)... or fluid filled.

Please keep us posted!! I hope it gets better! *fingers crossed*

You might be able to shrink it down using sugar (you can on a mammal's organ) to reinsert it. However since it's coming from the vent, it would be best that the snake be kept on a liquid type diet....A/D cat food from vet thinned down and fed w/a tube, so the feces remains watery until healed, otherwise the snake will just push it out again. You could use unwaxed dental floss and stitch it back up to healing, but again, have to be very careful to allow for elimination, or THAT inability could harm the snake.

Hey guys.. It just slip back in naturally. Plan not to feed it for two weeks first. Anyone know a good link to snake anatomy?

Hi hissnslither, can you elaborate more on the cat food? :) Thanks.
