im ready to cry
« on: July 05, 2010, 01:45:43 AM »
i dont know what happened, but a fire errupted at my home and i lost everything. i left my house at 2:40 and i went to work, i got a call about an hour later that my house was up in a blaze. i rushed home, but i wasnt allowed in the house, i just got back to the house a little after mid-night and my entire reptile room is gone, all that is left is the rubble. the only animal that i found was my red tegu pyro, and i just broke down. i dont know how im going to deal with this. the fire chief suspects one of the extension cords had gone faulty, but they dont know either. this is very hard for me to have to post. im virtually homeless right now so i decided to just sale the 2 tegus i was planning on getting from bobby. thank you guys for all your help.

OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!!
I am SOOOOOO Sorry :O(
I can imagine the pain you are feeling especially with losing all your pets and your home as well.
I almost had that happen here last winter when my sons camper caught into blazes right outside my house and I was freaking out and it was in a blizzard so we couldn't see crap and fought the fire with shovels full of snow and ice as it took our fire department 45 minutes to get out here in the country to assist us. I was a TOTAL wreck and had all my snakes packed up and ready to evacuate them.
SOOO, yeah, I can understand how you feel.
We are here for support because we ALL love the animals each has and consider you a great friend !!!!
WE SEE NEWS STORIES ENTITLED “WHEN PETS GO BAD,” BUT OFTEN A MORE APPROPRIATE TITLE IS “WHEN PET OWNERS TURN STUPID!!!”

thank you everyone, i coping with everything. i do have great news though, the reptile community has really been there for me through this tough time, as well as my job(wal-mart)! my job is giving me a grant to find a new place to live, i have been getting offers fro various people to help me re-start my hobby which i love so much. after i find a place i have 2 tegus, 1 rhino iguana, 1 cuban iguana, 2 baby beardies, and 3 boas(hypo, snow, and bolivian) coming my way plus a guy from my city is donating a few 40 breeders, 20l's, and 75 gal tanks to me to help me out. i cant thank everyone enough for there support, i have even found a way to pay the reptile community back once im back on my feet, i just need to figure a few things out and then im going to get right on it. thank you all again i will never forget any of this EVER!
