A few of my girl Trina
« on: May 14, 2010, 02:51:30 AM »
Trina is my first retic. She is a normal pattern about 11.5 pounds and by far my favorite herp that I keep. Here are a few pics of her in her new cage and outside enjoying the sun.

Hope you enjoy...

Great looking normal and they are my favorites in all species of snakes but I love looking at the high morphs.
Really nice pictures and thanks for sharing them with us.

Your welcome. I too love all of the different morphs but for me, nothing beats the original. It is just a beautiful example of nature at it's finest.

Good looking retic. Looks like she's had a few shedding issues? definately doesn't look like she's been a picky eater though.

Thank you. As far as the shedding she usually does a real good job but she was just transfered in to the new cage before she shed. But is going opaque yet again lol. As far as eating she would eat everyday if I offered it to her. In this picture the rather chunky looking area, is 2 jumbo guinea pigs that she ate the night before.

It's usually humidity related, if she was in a tub before the humidity was much higher than the cage she's in now. And no, she didn't look overweight at all, lol. She looks pretty good and healthy. How long have you had her?

I have had her for three years, I got her fom someone who was severely under feeding her. So I got her and started her on young rats she was just under 3 feet when I got her. The vet said she is a little small lengthwise because of the under feeding but she is starting to catch up. She makes up now for what she wasn't able to eat before I got her. As far as the shed it is because like I said she was only in the cage for 2 days before she shed, She wasn't interested in soaking at all she was to busy exploring the new enclosure. this shed will probably be a complete. But being she is getting a little on the large size, she is at the point where it is very uncommon for any retic to du full sheds. It is very rare to the point that it is rarely  even observed in the wild under perfect conditions.

Really? I have a basement full of rare retics then... lol. All mine get full sheds bro, it's just a matter of knowing the tricks to keeping the humidity right. I really wasn't trying to offend you, just saying I can offer you some tips on how to get the humidity up. She looks really good. Definately small for her age, but definately not underfed anymore either. Keep those pics coming!

I was not offended. But with her once she hit the around nine foot range she stopped doing complete sheds. I was told this was normal and that it is rare to get larger boids to do complete sheds if you have tips that will work lay em on me lol. I am not against advice. Sorry if it seemed that I was offended.
