My new-ish retic
« on: March 03, 2010, 11:35:54 PM »
The whole reason why we purchased her was because we were told she was a female. Once we got her home and probed her, MALE. And to top it all off, infested with mites.  :banghead:

So here he is in his temporary home, til we are 110% the mites are gone. ( Don't want a mass infection on 50+ snakes!! )

That's very unfortunate. It's a good looking snake to.

No Joke, soak him in vegetable oil.. just once. Don't rinse it all off, clean down his cage the usual way, then put him in. He will have a pretty bad shed and he'll make the tank a little oily, but those suckers will be suffocated! Works everytime for me.

or you could skip the bad shed and oil, and use our mite care sheet in the husbandry section ;) I've heard the vegetable oil works too though.

So everything is going good with him. He started hacking and such, so we treated him for an RI and now have placed him with one of our female burms. Keeping fingers and toes crossed that we might get a lock up.

She is all over him, so I'm hoping he starts showing some interest in her.
