My best friend is on military tour in Afghanistan, and his wife is a complete ditz. She hates his snakes and refuses to pick them up, give them water, or feed them. So, I finally got his permission to take this guy. Had Nicholas go pick him up and he said she was like.. trying to pick him up with a close hanger, but he was so balled up because he was so cold, she couldn't, big surprise. Nicholas said the window in the snake room was open (it's like.. 40* at the warmest up here right now, she couldn't stand the "smell"

Yeah, I don't like the smell of DIEING ANIMALS EITHER B!T<H), and their lights were OFF!
So Nicholas brings this snake into me, wrapped in a snake bag and I open it and I swear I thought he was dead. HE WAS ICE COLD and not moving at all. I picked him up and started checking his eyes with a light to see if they responded and trying to mess with his mouth, and praise the lord, out pops his tongue and back in again!
So I rushed him in the bathroom and plugged in my hair dryer and warmed him up with that first, then into a warm bath. He was really dehydrated so I suffered him through some syringing, placed him in my warmest tub spot on my quarantine rack. The next day it was like a completely different animal!
Three days out and he's doing great, fed him a small rat today, to get his body going again slowly.
Poor kids been through hell and back! But he's such a sweet heart. He's a possible calico, that's all I know, kid never found out anything else about him. This'll be his "growth thread" now I guess, since he's going to be with me for a while.
Enjoy!
