Semi-Weekly Poll #4 (Serious Question)

This is a very hypothetical question. Assume that one of these laws are passed that ban the type of snake (or snakes) you keep - balls all the way on up. What if that law said you could no longer keep them?? Would you be law-abiding and keep your reptiles?? What if the reptile "trade" no longer existed, and you could no longer breed, buy, acquire snakes?? How would you handle that situation??

I know this is a controversial question, but it is strictly for debate only. If you post here, you acknowledge that no judgment will passed.

My relationship with EACH of my snakes is a full time commitment and responsibility and they are with me til death do us part no way around it.

I will do anything I have to do to keep the animals I love and respect and care for.

Hopefully the demands aren't so outrageous if passed that many people can't afford to keep and maintain their collection.

I've already been there for the past two years. Any of the Colossals I don't breed during the spring and summer and have frozen up I end up purchasing them through a pet store and they cost me eleven dollars each. These are as big as a 2 or 3 pound rabbit though so I don't kick too much about it.

Couldn't raise my own this past year we had so much rain and bad nasty weather hopefully I'll get a break this breeding season for my feeders.

Can you imagine the cost to keep snakes if we had a huge increase in the price of feeders, enclosures and housing materials as well not to mention having to purchase permits and microchips?

Crap I'd rather not even think about honestly.

Truthfully? I have a .357 magnum and a 30-06 loaded in my bedroom at all times and I'll be damned if some fool tries to come into my house and remove my animals. I have every right under the law to protect my family, property, and myself. I am being very serious about this. I'll warn you to get out of my house and off my property and if you don't off with your damn leg. I don't tolerate shot like that here. I don't like the government telling me how to live in the first place but telling me that what I own would be illegal too? Hell no. Don't screw with a redneck and his shit. I swear on my life I would do everything in my power to stop anyone from taking my family from me. My snakes are my family and I'll be damned if someone who shouldn't have any control of my life period tried to remove them from my home.

Shit rats here in Florida are already at 10 dollars a rat. I pay almost 5 dollars just for one medium and large is 10 and that's the cheapest you can find for live rats around here. Not going into the whole rodent pro thing because I have discussed it before with donnie and everyone about me feeding fresh killed.
