Photo of the month contest announcement and rules

We at Dark Side Reptiles are going to start a photo of the month contest that any member can join in on by merely posting pictures on the forum.  The winner each month will have a new thread in this forum with the announcement and his or her picture posted,  also we will be sending out a news letter to every member announcing the winner for the month.
 Myself and Peter Steele will be looking at all the pictures from all over the forums each month to decide a winner. The great part is the rules are super simple.  Pictures to be considered will need to be the original posters in a new thread posted during the dates of the current contest month.  There is one exception to this rule.  We will also consider any new pictures posted in the growth and development threads during the dates of the current contest month.


The first months contest will begin on March 1st and end March 29th, the winner to be announced March 31st.

I wouldnt say there was no way that anyone couldnt win.  We may suck at picking a winner so its best to just make lots of threads with lots of new pictures and lets see what everyone comes up with....

Everyone sees thing different and from a different point of view so what might not be attractive to one person may really make someone else's eyes bug out.
This is a cool idea and looking forward to it.
Gives me more new pictures for promotional videos also ;O)

Yeah well me and Steve will be both looking at the photo's so there will have to be an agreement between the both of us for a picture to pass through in the end. So that is the benefit of having two people do this because we can talk them over and decide on what we both think would be a great picture to win. Gives everyone a better chance because there are more than one opinion being calculated into the decision.

Just want to point out that this won't be based on quality of pic due to what kind of camera you have. Some people can't afford the DSLR's that some of us use. Even if you're using the camera on your cell phone, you can still get picked. It's all about perspective, and getting people to see the beauty you want them to see in these animals.

Exactly what Donnie said.  I use a $100 camera always have I know it wont take hte clarirty of picture that some peoples cameras will.   Ill base my likes or dislikes on cother things completely trust me.
