Weight
« on: February 09, 2010, 09:10:06 PM »
Well Sunday night while we were cleaning cages, we decided to weigh the 10ft albino Burmese & my almost 8ft Redtail boa. I was very surprised at the weights, they are a lot lighter than they feel! The 10ft albino Burmese (believe its a male) is 32.5 lbs, and the almost 8ft Redtail female was 26 lbs! I was guessing that he was going to be around 50 lbs or so, and her at least 35, but I was way off, just thought I would post. I plan on getting weights on my Dumerils later too.
18 boas +1 more coming soon, 10 pythons +2 more coming soon, 7 colubrids, 9 lizards, 1 tortoise, 2 amphibians, 2 cats, 1 fish & a 90 gallon outdoor pond full of mosquito fish, wild frogs, etc

I think thats lighter than i would expect as well at least for the burm.   Fo some reason they just look heavy as hell to me even at only 10ft.  Its about what I would guess for the boa though based on the weight of my 5ft RTB Eve.  thnx for the share though it really helps put things in perspective.
