It's a boy!!!
« on: February 12, 2010, 04:50:39 PM »
So yesterday I went to sneedville to pick up my second boa from sharon. This time it was an anery male. He comes froma DH snow x DH snow cross. He'll be 3 next month and his name is solomon. So if anyone could tell me exactly what size feeders he needs that would be helpful. And as you can tell he and lumina are both getting ready to shed XD!!!

Good looking boa!  As for feeders, I'd find out what the breeder was feeding him.

My 3 year old Boas were already eating large and jumbo rats. More information would be helpful to know what the breeder had the Boa eating.

I would definitely see what size the "adult rats" were that he was eating.  If she can't tell you then well, that's kind of not so great I would think personally as a buyer's point of view.  Also you want to get a rat that's large enough to leave a lump in him but if she was feeding smaller than what he should be, that could be a problem too cuz he may not take the larger feeder right away.

Congrats and keep us posted ;)

you want a rat that's at least as big around as the thickest part of the snake, maybe a little bigger.

Thanks guys. I bought the biggest frozen they had in stock. But he's pretty thick. May have to get the jumbo ones from my regular pet store
