I saw an add a while back on these things....just currious if anyone else has heard of em...they'd work great around here if i can find some...we have a tone of rattlers, copperheads, and cottonmouths >.>

I'd say the best snake proof gear would be to get you a pair of safety boots (they are different from steel toe boots the steel goes all the way up to the very top of your foot) and a thick pair of well made quality chaps. Or if you can find a store that sells leather rolls you can make your own chaps and buy the leather working needles and thread at a craft store most of them carry leather working tools and such, chaps aren't that hard to make and leather at least where I live is cheap.

Yeah, quite a few places carry them.I have a set myself.Some companies use leather,others use newer stuff to make them lightert like kevlar.Take a look here at few they carry at BassPro Shops.

My herping boots are the same boots i wear everywhere else,,good ol USMC milsurp boots,,thick leather,tho soft and flexible,,the "jeep tread" sole type not the newer ones as there nylon,,so far theve done good for me,tho im not sure thed handle a full grown copperhead or snapping turtle
