Chewy The Carpet
« on: January 07, 2010, 08:38:01 AM »
When I have any free time lately from building new snake enclosures I occasionally get a chance to learn to use my new cell phone camera. Figured I'd toss these up and still have more settings to learn to use but been real busy making cages when I'm done with them I will post pictures of them.

Thank You Bree!!!! Chewy is my first carpet and adding a female to my collection as soon as i can. I have to tell you of all the snakes Ive owned in 46 years he's just totally the most amazing and fascinating snake. I just love watching him climb and they are just so agile and strong as heck for their size and he never stops moving.

Actually Chewy came to me as a gift from Brian and Lori and Chewy helped pick out the snake for me so I named him after Doctor Chewy  :sign200:

I thought it had to have something to do with Doctor Chewy!  He's such a nut!!! I'm hoping Brian is at the Pomona Show this weekend,  I missed him by turning away for 2.5 seconds at my last show!! lol

They have such wonderful personalities honestly....very gentle but intelligent and a bit stubborn at times!   I currently have 5 carpets, 3 Diamond x Jungle and 2 Diamond x Coastals.  Each is stunning in its own way!   You will surely love Chewy even more as it moves along,   they always surprise me!!  Enjoy!

Brian and Lori and the entire crew at BHB Reptiles are incredible people for sure and Brian is never to busy to NOT help someone with a problem or reptile related health issue.
We've been good friends for a long time and he really does everything he can to help support the hobby.

You're so right about Carpets I'm hooked for life. I was going to get a female the end of summer but they were out so I'm on the next clutch hatched list to get a female hopefully.
Noticed there are many new Carpet owners on YouTube now more than ever before which is great.

Chewy just never slows down or calms down. I told Brian I think he has a genetic deformity and he acts like he has ADHD all the time. LOL

He is for sure a sweetheart though and wouldn't part with him for all the money in the world.

lmao omg I thought you were talkin about the original Chewy when you were talking about the ADHD and genetic deformity! lmao  could have fit him though cause he really is a handful!

I finally got the yearlings (now about a year and a half) because I could not find a female for my Taz at all that was in his age range or of his background (Diamond x Jungle) so with the yearlings they are a sexed pair.  Taz  unfortunately will have to wait I guess.....he's not happy! lol

It is a gorgeous animal but I have to ask, did it have some sort of injury or problem in the past? It looks like it's eye is sunken in a bit but looks healthy otherwise...

No not injuries they've been like that since I got him they are sort of sunk in looking but a lot is the coloring around the eye and my camera angles.

Thank you Tara he's a real sweetheart actually. Still learning to use my new cell phone camera in the midst of making new snake enclosures. My poor house looks like a wood cutting plant LOL Had to cover all the snake enclosures to keep the saw dust down but too dang cold to be cutting wood outdoors.
