New Incubator (ReptiPro 5000 w/o the sticker shock!)
« on: December 14, 2009, 11:56:01 AM »
I've been searching around for a new incubator since I sold my Nature's Spirit last year like a dummy. I figured I wouldn't be breeding for a while... Wrong! lol. Anyway I remembered I saw someone link to a website called ThinkGeek.com for a mini fridge/warmer. I've noticed that several reptile companies have been selling a similar product (actually I think it is the same exact product) as incubators. I ordered it Thursday and it just got here. It is pretty nifty! Here is a pic:

ThinkGeek.com is MUCH more reasonable than buying it from a reptile website, as they have marked the price up GREATLY. Here is the link to where I got mine:

For fun, here are links to the website selling them for more.

I will be using this thing for ball python and rhacodactylus eggs. There isn't a ton of room in it, but for $100 the price can't be beat. Just thought I'd share.

Welcome... To the Dark Side

"Did you hear the word about me playing the game?
Selling my soul and changing my name.
Did you hear the word about me being a prick?
Did you know I don't care? You can suck my...
Did you hear the word about me trying to die?
Fist in the air and a finger to the sky.
Do I care if you hate me? Do you wanna know the truth?
 C'est la vie....adiós....good riddance....fuck you!"

Cool find Abi, will you be making any modifications?  Or do the temps flux at all?

Not sure yet Juddy, I have it going now and it does fluctuate a little bit but not much and for only a few seconds when heating up or down. I'm going to get a digital thermometer w/ a probe and set it in an incubation container to be more accurate. It does have a fan inside (which you can see) so that's pretty cool. I've heard many success stories from other people so I'm pretty confident about it.

I'll definitely give updates as I go :) I should have a ball clutch to put in it soon if all goes well.
