Free snakes are so awesome!
« on: December 03, 2009, 09:26:40 PM »
So a friend of mine told me about a possible free snake opportunity at his school and told me "this guy is wanting to give away his snake" that was literally all the information i got and the guys email address. I was thinking it was probably a ball python or something and -no offence to those who keep em- they just aren't my thing. So imagine my surprise when i contact the guy and find out it's a 3 year old cali king! I jumped on that and met the guy the next day to pick it up! :D
He had always called it a male but as suspected it had never actually been probed so that was one of the first things i had on the agenda... as it turned out it's female!! I decided to stick with her previous name, Domino, its nice and fits.
She was difficult to probe and it hardly even went two scales so i either didn't do it right or it's female...going with female lol will try again at a much later once she's settled in and healthy. As it turns out she does actually have a bit of a respiratory problem (when i had picked her up she appeared healthy) which i didn't notice until feeding her today (she ate two adult mice) and she was sniffling just a bit so will work on clearing that up and hopefully have her back to perfect health in no time!
Also... Although i do love eco earth...NOT for snakes lol so that is coming out of there very soon and until she's healthy she will be on newspaper.
Anyways...here she is!!!

Very nice :) I used to use Eco Earth for snakes, but it is an unnecessary hassle really. Newspaper FTW!
