When buying books..take the time to make sure that the information/book isn't out dated. Also pay attention to the Author. Make sure it is a well known one or at least they seem to know what they are writting about.
I have come across people that will get a book that is out dated and then argue about things in it that are different from what others are doing.
Everyone is going to do something differently..doesn't always mean they are right in what they are doing. The most important thing is ..the health of the snake.
My two cents here..OK maybe its more then two cents..sorry..lol

Yeah I'd have to say anything in the "Complete" series is good.  I own and have read the Complete Ball Python and it's a great book, quick read (took me 3 days) and only costs $50.  Definitely not bad and has more info than those $5 books you get for free from breeder X or Y for buying a snake of some sort.

Also, Boas and Pythons of the world by Mark O'Shea is a good read too!

I see Tracy and Dave's Ball Python book, it looks very comprehensive but for the price...yikes.  I'd start with the Complete Ball python and if you really want to get more info, then go drop the cash on this book.  I'm sure it's a phenomenal read.
Coming soon...

Ball Pythons in Captivity (Professional Breeders Series) by Kevin McCurley (Paperback - Mar 15, 2006)
Buy new: $9.95
12 Used & new from $5.94

http://www.amazon.com/Ball-Pythons-Captivity-Professional-Breeders/dp/097673348X/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1245645254&sr=1-3

This is on Amazon, I have a copy that i got from my local petstore. It has all the basic health, feeding, housing and breeding info, and same pictures as "The Complete Ball Python" WITHOUT all the morphs.

It's also written by Kevin of NERD. I actually own both books, but I got the cheap one first, then as I got deeper into breeding and morphs, I went on NERDs website, ordered it from them and there's a cool option to ask for Kevin to sign the book himself, I thought that was pretty awesome.

I do go back to the book every now and again when i forget things, or to show my friends why I love snakes, there's a ton of pictures of all kinds of morphs. But if you don't want to spend too much, the small book has everything you need.

If you want to get another $50 book with lots of morphs, i would highly suggest Designer Morphs

Designer Morphs: The Complete Guide to Medium Sized Python and Boa Morphs by John Berry (Paperback - 2006)
2 Used & new from $85.00

dude i have never heard of ball X burmese hybrid. I honestly doubt the 2 animals would mate with each other just due to the size difference. I mean think of a male ball python getting on an adult female burm???
or the other way around, a male burm. squashing the crap out of an adult female ball (she probably woulnd't be too big compared to the burmese.

But post the question up in another forum and you will probably get a definite answer.

it has been done. Pitbulls have bred toy poodles too, I wouldn't pay anything for those either.
