Bad Smells ?

okay its been a while sense iv posted anything but iv been haveing a problem with my purp    shes been growing alot shes rite around 7ft now   my question is    is there anyway to get around the smell of the pee or crap  its soo bad my dads threating to make me get rid of her cuz its stinking up the whole house.  And its horbile is this normal in retics or is it something she digesting difrently

Big snakes have smelly left overs. Just try to clean it as soon as possible and take the trash bag out. I use Clorox Green Works to clean my enclosures.

yeah man, clean it when it happens... What are you feeding her? low quality feeders often come out smelling quite a bit worse than if the snake had been fed some good high quality rabbits from a quality breeder.

I swear snake piss has got to be the worst thing I have ever smelled!  But, I love them!  I didn't throw out my kids when their diapers stunk up my house (don't get me started on the new dog and his amazing farting ability) I'm not going to do that to my snakes either! 

The best way I've found is to clean it up as soon as you can after they pee/poo, take it out in a grocery bag to the trash outside, and clean the enclosure.  It gets ripe sometimes, but the sooner you get to it the better!

agree! :yeahthat: on the other I have feed my retic rabbits from rodent pro and rabbits from my local breeder and a couple times i had to buy from pet shops but it always comes out smelling bad! But like everyone else has said clean it when you find it!

welcome to the wonderful world of big snakes! The Bigger the snake the worse the stink haha.
Cleaning it as soon as it happens is about the only way to deal with it. Course it realy shouldn;t be stinking up the whole house. My snake room gets prety ripe time to time espicaly if the rattlers took a dump along with the retic. Just clean it an take the trash outside right after even if you have to use a new bag.
I like the clorox wipes myself but vinigar works good to ^^.

Heads up! careful with OVER cleaning with retics... yes, you want to remove soiled paper, and urates and all that, get it clean... but if you happen to clean out their smell, they're gonna go twice as often. Just something we've noticed keeping ours.

lol yea i noticed that to donnie espiclay with aztec, i've starte dtaking out majorites but in soem palces like along tehc rack of teh wall i don;t scrub it an he seems content with that  thank god! lol
