CNN Coverage of "Python Problem"
« on: August 04, 2009, 11:13:38 AM »
Did anyone else see the story run on CNN yesterday.  The teaser I heard was, "Giant, killer snakes eating everything in thier path..."

Here is the online article:

http://www.cnn.com/2009/US/07/30/florida.python.hunter/index.html

I'm beginning to think we need to get on the media offensive.  These kind of stories are going to have frightened people calling thier reps.  And the reps that we can't get the facts too are going to believe what they see on TV.

We need to get a news station to cover a really nice show... Like Daytona, or Hamburg or the M.A.R.S. show to show people these animals aren't what everyone says.
There is a "Reptile Day" at the Lancaster, PA "That Fish Place, That pet Place" This saturday. If we could get someone to cover it, that would be awesome, because it will be families bringing in their animals and spending time with the reptiles at the store. And it's free to get in too. There are suppose to be "5$ pictures with animals" there too. If nothing else, go check it out and meet the people from the Lancaster Herpetological society.

I think that's a really good angle.  The marketing teams for these shows would be the logical points of contact.  It would also be in thier interest, generally.
