DAMN!!!!  I registered just cuz I had to!  Had an awesome response to it, clicked post, and it came back as there was a problem...you aren't registered!!! 

There is no way to retrieve it either  :awwwman:

Now I'm frustrated and must vent!!!  I'm going to go work on something now  :insertevil:

lol, awaiting account activation... but this is what I'm trying to post.

Interestingly enough, I have kept snakes for 26 years and they all seem quite happy to me. Now if you think about it. What does a snake do in the wild? they curl up under a rock somewhere and wait for food to walk by. They don't actively hunt. They don't frollic in the fields. They're ambush predators. They like to be in small dark places... so guess what? I let mine out of the cage, they go right back in it, they love it, imagine that. Now on this subject, for things that are "meant to be in the wild", humans were originally meant to be in the wild. If that is our line of thinking, why are we leaving our houses and going back to the caves we originally lived in? maybe because we LIKE modern accomodations? What can be better for an animal that doesn't want to leave it's hole but does not know when it's next meal is coming? well to have a hole they don't have to leave that even has the a temperature gradiant in which they don't have to move very far to self regulate body temps (remember, reptiles can't produce their own body heat). Now while it would be cruel to keep them in a glass tank all lit up (they're nocturnal, don't like light, and don't like being out in the open), a PROPER cage with the right dimensions and belly heat and only one transparent side with no lights is like heaven for them. Especially when they don't even have to kill their own food. Now as for the killing of the food being inhumane? would you rather fall asleep in a gas chamber? or would you rather be squeezed by this til your eyes pop out? (and yes, that is my animal in the pic)

Well, I have some input on this. My roommate is Vegan, HOWEVER, she loves my snakes, and all critters for that matter. She does not support PETA because of their bullshit and the horrible things they do to animals they are supposedly trying to save. She understands that snakes eat rats/mice/rabbits etc., and she accepts that that is their nature and what they have to eat to survive, but she does feel bad for the LIVE rats I feed to my picky ball pythons. I feed frozen to those who will take it and she does not get upset by that. She is fascinated with the snakes and watching their behavior, and she has "snake sat" for me on numerous occasions when I go out of town. She and I work at the same vet clinic together, and she is one of the best roommates I could ask for. We may disagree on what we like to eat, but thats about it. Its actually rather funny, our freezer is very much a walking contridiction, with frozen rats next to the soy ice cream next to frozen steaks and chicken breasts.

I digress... I think that these sheeple supporting PETA have no clue what they are talking about, and should not be giving anyone advice about snake ownership... especially that dumbdumb talking about releasing their snakes into the wild. If they really cared about animals they would not do that! Chances are high that either the snakes will get killed or will start hunting the wildlife and peoples pets in the area.... RAWR!!!!!!!!!
It just gets me so worked up when ignorance is displayed so openly like this.

Yeah, nice. Take an animal used to be handed food all it life... and than release it, and pretty much be like, GOOD LUCK!! Nice. Real nice.
