celeste i see were u are coming from on that, and for me the only venomous i'm gonna have unless i ever move out of tn is hog nose snakes and fwcs, but yes people do need to treat them with more respect than a cornsnake and i do not recommend fwcs as a beginner pet

I mean hell yes alota us where catchin stuff when we wereyounger an keeping it either with or without our p[arrents knowledge. i kept a blue phase pygmy for a week - that was my first kept hot an I was like 10 years old at the time. Hell it was chasin a locust (i can only guess cuz one flew outa the grass an was goin in its direction) when it went across my hand an i just picked it straight up an my dad came out an put it in a jar after i called him out there. Iwsh like hell i woulda actualy kept that thing longer lol have you ever seen ablue phase pygmy rattler? OMG *wipes drool* but i mean none the less we all do "stupid" things.
But most if not all of us when we did those stupid things did it without ever askin someone else for advice first.
I rember we had this big lake we dug out infornt of our house, an of course had a few wood piles for when we did alil juggin at night so we coudl have a fire. My dad would periocily wiggel out a few bottom peices kneel down, stick his arm up in there, an pull out literaly handfulls of black snakes an fling them out into the water.. course the catfish loved it lol. but still just cuz my dad did it does not mean that I will.
even now my dad is alil facinated by hots, grown up they alway skilled'em of course if thyw here close to the house or if it ran a risk of gettin in with teh chickens etc. but the fact his daughter keeps them, an i apply alot of what he taught me about handeling them over the years kinda gives him abit of a new persective. can take my hots out in the driveway or where ever an if it comes toward him he will just stand there. he wont move.
Afterall alota what gets ya bit IS ya jerk back. He's always been so dead calm with things. It was alays kinda funny hm laughin bout steve irwin an what not on tv dancin around with the hots. I owe my dad alot,if it wasnt for him i wouldn;t have learned as much as I have about nature, an survival period. but man hes got nerves of steel lol.
