Trace...is Savannah your other BP?  I thought you meant a Savannah Monitor.

I still would suggest not housing them together, and most especially not at first (if Savannah is current BP).  You want to isolate the new baby even if it 'looks' healthy.  Snakes can hide illnesses for a very long time, and coming straight from a petstore I'd want them far away from any of my other reptiles.

I wouldn't recommend buying from a pet shop, especially one where there are animals with visible problems (ie. shedding issues). If I were you, I would first buy an enclosure, get it set up and make sure the temps are ready. Then, I would either 1) Find a reputable local breeder to purchase from or 2) Find a reputable breeder online and buy from. As for what morph you should get... That is all depending on your personal preference :) The cheapest morphs on the market right now are pastels, spiders, and maybe mojaves. You can get baby pastels for $75-200 each and spiders are usually around $200-300 each. Mojaves are usually $250-450 each. Males being cheaper than females in all cases.

I would not house two ball pythons together and the dangers are doubled when it is a snake that has not been quarantined.  The only time anyone will suggest housing ball pythons together is when they are breeding with each other and then you need to make sure you are ready to get into breeding as well as the ball pythons being ready.

Unfortunately most chain pet stores don't care for their reptiles correctly.  Also after the sale support is like "buy this book and it will tell you what you need to know" with most pet stores.  Of course a pet store that does not know how to care for a ball python would put several in the same tank, they are there for quick sale and fast money.  They probably buy captive hatched animals for $15 bucks each in 10 lots and having an enclosure for each of the ten would not be the most economic.  Generally speaking if an animal sits in most chain pet stores for more than a month or two it gets rotated to another store that has had better luck in selling those animals.  Find someone selling that is willing to give you the advice you need and that could depend on what your future goals are for your snakes.

As to what morph to get next I would need to know what your intentions are for it.  Are you planning on going into breeding at a later point or are you just wanting a different looking pet?

Stop the press.... hold up

100 dollar tank? why spend more money on a less adequate enclosure when a sterilite tub with a heat pad and a dimmer switch will work a whole lot better, AND it'll cost alot less.

Any new snake you bring in, ever, always quarantine... some things an animal can carry and show no symptoms of for up to 6 months, but will whipe out your entire collection.

As far as housing snakes together... only time you should do this is during breeding. Snakes are solitary, they don't like to be around other animals at all.

Last but least, easy on the cap locks man... it hurts the eyes.
