I can saint she will definately get salmonella bacteria from eating that one chicken... but I can say chickens commonly carry it and that raw chicken is considered a health risk to humans, so me personally... I'd rather not run the risk.

Personally Trace?  I'd stick with rat pups or rats.  BP's are horribly picky and if you give them a chick or a hamster, you might end up having a BP that has a taste for them.   My BP's don't get treats.  They get their meal.  Rats.  (or mice if they are a mouse eater)

What is good for your BP is a nice rat.  Yum!

Usually you can size it up by this rule:  The rat should be  no bigger around than the ball python at its largest point.  Generally I just look at them to judge it.  Hope this helps!  Enjoy!

I tried to feed my largest ball python a hamster once. It was a friends that dumped at my house, and I didn't want it or have the time for it. So we stunned it and dopped it in her cage. "She looked a me like WTF is this?!? You expect ME to eat this nasty thing?" LoL, needless to say, she wasn't interested. Waste of money to try and feed a BP anything but a rat or mouse!
Cheers!

hampsters an gerbils are on the diet naturaly however a well started cb animal gernaly has no need of them their good to keep around to scent  stuff for picky eaters but thats about it.

Fowl for small pythons etc. just isn;t needed. ts a waste an elss nutrtion by teh timne you get one small enough. So why skimp on the animals needs.
it would be one thing if it was a 10 foot animal but eh nah not balls. Just stick to rats.
