Okay so apparently it's been long enough and Boots figured out that he wasn't gonna get any loving since he ate tonight!!  It was a huge rat too, probably one of the largest that I've ever given him.  He didn't want to eat it at first so left it in his cage.  Came back about 15 minutes later and he hadn't even moved near it and actually may have moved a bit away from it.  I picked it up and decided to give it a wiggle in front of his face before taking it out.  Well that did it cause he struck and coiled.  Came back 20 minutes later to check on him and he was swallowing the tail lol.  I'm soooo happy that he finally ate.  Now let's just hope he continues to eat for me lol :)

Sorry just made a post before I read all of the ones on this thread and good to hear he ate.
You said it was a huge rat that in itself could be an indication that he's looking for a bigger food item since he was reluctant to eat a smaller item.
Something to consider because they will refuse a food item if it's smaller than they want.
All my snakes have progressed like that actually.

Thanks Carla!  I have offered him a rat as large as this one before and he refused.  I do have some that I ordered from RodentPro that are this large though now on stock so hopefully he'll continue eating.  Just curious, on a regular feeding schedule, how often do you feed yours??

P.S.  Your photobucket pics in your sig seem to have been deleted?  Just thought I'd let you know :)

Thanks Tara I had all my photobucket folders locked to the public and yet had 75 recent views so someone has been using my links from my pictures to access my account so I made new folders and moved everything. :O)

Nosey and Grumpy each get two colossal rats each feeding and I alternate them with Degus which are their native choice of food. If they each get the two colossal's one meal then I wait until they excrete waste and then feed the three Degus each or sometimes four because they are smaller.

They eat at least every two weeks in spring and summer and all my snakes have a big winter feeding around the end of October.

My female Nosey cuts down in winter and the male totally stops feeding but the female will eat at least one colossal a month through winter and she will refuse anymore than that.
Their eating habits and all habits for that matter have been totally consistent for the past four years with the exception the male stopped eating in the winter.

Ahh okay well that helps.  I'm not going to offer Boots again for at least two weeks or until he goes potty lol

Just my opinion from 46 years experience with snakes people shouldn't be too hasty to feed another meal until the snake has digested and excreted the previous meal. This greatly reduces the risk of an intestinal obstruction or the snake getting bound up because that can kill a snake. This way if it passes fine you know the snake isn't having any digestive problems.
