its difficult when anskae goes off food to not start worrying but honestly  i have had a snake go 10 months without eating  then just up an start back like it was nothing.
Sometimes they take aphase in their life when they decide ok i'm good for now an they wont eat or they are tryin to tell you its time for a meal change- ie, larger prey, diffrent prey etc.keep an eye on his body condition, long as hes not  doing what i call pyromiding (where when you look down form teh top they look /\ instead of round) or when youy run your hand down the spine you feel teh indiviudal ridges i wouldn;t honestly worry to awful much.
Also i wouldn;t try alota things back to back, if you offer a rat an he doesn't take it then wait a week or two then try again with something else maybe a diffrent size or species.

btw fo rteh aslepn thing i dun realy recomend keeping rtb on aspen due to their humdiity requirements if you were gona switch substrate i'd  call for cypress mulch thats only if you were gona change it though ^^. paper towls an newspaper arejust fine though ;)
Yeah it's a little over two months now and he's not changed personality/weight so I'm not completely worried.  Just wanted to get other people's opinions and of course, I love talkin about my baby lol..

I will not change him off the paper towels.  He was eating fine after I got him and switched him off that reptile bark so I don't think changing him back will help.  Honestly, I will never keep any snake on anything other than paper towels or similar substrates.  That's just me though.

Thanks for the advice Celeste, I know I shouldn't worry, but it's just not in my nature to not lol.  I'm sure you know how that is and he's my first snake and the only one to have stopped eating.

if u can't get him to eating, try a guniea pig, that is the boa contrictor's native food source in the wild
I've thought about that but am trying to stay with rats for now.  I'm going to try a f/t next weekend and get some chick down I believe.  Then if he doesn't then give him some more time and think about other prey items.

your snake is the age and size for breeding, i have found even if you dont brumate them, they still cycle...and go off feed

Yes he is and I have taken that into consideration.

I have yet to hear anyone's point on this though.  How long do they normally go off feed for breeding season?  And typically what months do they do this??  I've heard different answers on this one.  Anyone that has/have had boas, could you please answer this to the best of your knowledge/appearance.  Thank you :)

As much as one loves their pets, they also seem to cause caution at times which gets kinda irritating. lol. But in the end, the love can't compare.
