you'll definately need a temp gun... and just a dimmer and a drop cord.... the drop cord has two wires... split em and only cut one... that'll give you two ends.... strip those two ends and splice the black wires on the dimmer to them... seal em up for insulation from each other and you've got yourself a home made rheostat.

oh people have used dimmers for awhile... not sure if they did it that way, but I know it's been done for quite awhile.

Oh I see. But it's still a neat way that you set it up right there. :) Im thinking about using one of those. I have this thingy in the terrainium that senses the temperature and hummidity, and if either one is low, it will turn on the extra light or set of the fogger. It's home made by a buddy and it's neat. But the problem is that the retic only has one and the monitor doesn't. So I want to get one for the monitor to! :) So look's like imma try you're way donnie. lol

better invest in a temp gun... any self respecting reptile enthusiast should have one... it's not a suggestion, it's a necessity. and it's not like they're super expensive... I don't see why people are so hesitant to get one but will spend money on other elaborate setups with dials and such....
