How it all started...

How did everyone get into reptiles??



My story is that my ex boyfriend had a colombian red tail boa, Boots.  Although, I did grow up around mostly boys so we were constantly playin outside and catching things.  That's pretty much it so far lol!!! I'd love to get some crested geckos, superdwarf retics, and of course more boas in the future.

Hmmm... how did it all start? I've always been into creepy crawlies of all sorts, my parents used to freak out when i was little and lived in colorado and I would play with black widows lol thats pretty much as far back as i can remeber when it comes to critters...
Must have been like 4 or 5 when we were in colorado and the area we lived in was just being developed so there was desert all around us. was out walking the dog wiht my dad once and we came across a little rattler so still and camoflouged he almost stepped on it! I was just fascinated at the little rattling thing and wanted to watch and observe it...course my dad was freaking out and pulled me away but i guess that was the "official" start of my love for reptiles.

well it all started when i was 10 we went to a flea market and my brother saw this reptile shop run by spider real name randar and he bought this burmese python and i went and bought two garter snakes and garter snakes were my very first snakes tho i had to get rid of them i accidently let one lose after it bit me as a regular 11 year old would do and we moved still had our burmese name killer 5 years later everybody had jobs and i had school so we were force to get rid of killer i  was sad then 5 years later i bought my ball python and then proceed to buy my male boa after that i bought my boa i bought my male burmese after demon died the ball python i bought a female burmese and well here i am today

The way that it started for me was all thanks to my dad. He majored in being a vet. And from the looks of it, I followed him in his footsteps... lol... He isnt into the reptile thing as I am. He loves birds, and mammals... I guess you can say that it was all thanks to my uncle when he bought me my first garter snake back in the days. But the real surprise was when I started working at my dads friends pet store.... Thats when the real hobby began... >:D

When i was 7 my dad took me to the only reptile show here in Macedonia... And there it was, one big, fat albino Burm... And I just start dreaming about Burms every day.... And couple of years later I met Dean (he loved iguanas then). So for his 18 b/day I give him crazy iguana, and for my 17 he gave me baby Burm ;D
So after 10 years of dreaming, i finaly got my burm

it started for me from day one i was crazy about animals, and my aunt was a bioligy professor at the university of louisville so she was buying me books and things about any kind of animal but reptiles hit me when i was 5 and a half when i found a bunch of baby garters under a log so i stuffed my pockets full of them, and when i got home i was filthy so my mom made me get in the bath and when she was putting my clothes in the washer she checked my pockets and freaked. i cried for a week because she killed my pets wich by the way they were all named fred lol. i wasent aloud to have snakes till i moved out but when i was 16 i did own a black throat moniter. but im making up for the lack of owning snakes now...

I've been around big snakes all my life. Grew up around some wild caught retics (hell spawn) and got my first Ribbon Snakes when I was 6. That didn't last long before I got into balls and breeding. Then in my early teens I got into boas, in my late teens I got into burms, then in my 20's I got into Retic's (and I'll tell ya, a good Quality captive bred animal is nothing like those wild caught monsters you hear all those stories about). And now here I am :)
