CONGRATS !!! Indian are one of my favorites !
And religion, like the monster that it is
Keeps telling you to turn the other cheek
God is on your side, but I don't think that you're on his,
If Jesus showed up now he'd be in jail by next week !!!

That's awesome!  I really want to get into either Indians or Ceylonese later this year.  The only drawback to the Indians is not being able to ship across state lines without the proper permits.  I love'em though.  Congrats again!

The Ceylonese (Sri Lankan) pythons--P. molurus pimbura, are considered CITES Appendix 1 endangered species also.

Guess I haven't been paying close enough attention to that.  I have never actually looked at the regs.  There are a few breeders out there who are either unaware of this or just don't care.  I won't mention names, but I have been asking around about Ceylonese and been told by more than one individual that there are no permits required to ship across state lines.

http://www.legco.gov.hk/yr01-02/english/subleg/brief/237_brf.pdf

You can see the reference here, plus CITES doesn't recognize P. molurus pimbura as a distinct species, they only recognize Burms and Indian pythons in the molurus species (if you search the CITES species database you will see that pimbura don't exist).

Here is a documetn from the USFW web site

http://ecos.fws.gov/docs/federal_register/fr71.pdf

This clearly states ceylon and indian
